Stamp collections issued by Bahrain Post won third place overall and a bronze medal in Group (A) at the 10th International Philatelic Competition held under the auspices of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) at the A.S. Popov Museum of Communications in St. Petersburg, Russia from 25-27 June 2013.

A total of 35 card stamps from different participating countries were evaluated by a special committee, comprising judges and stamp designers who showed interest and appreciation for the Bahraini stamps presented by Bahrain Post.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Transportation’s Assistant Undersecretary for Post, Shaikh Bader bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, stated that the Kingdom of Bahrain – represented by the Philately Office at Bahrain Post, participates in international events such as these where counterparts from other countries are also participants and have a platform to share knowledge and experience in postage stamps. Bahrain has been participating in this exhibition since its launch in 2008 under the title “World Philatelic Exhibition” which was first held in Bucharest (Romania) and subsequently in Rome (Italy), Luoyang and Wuxi (China), Lisbon (Portugal), and Doha (Qatar). By actively participating in these events, Bahrain Post strengthens the Kingdom of Bahrain’s presence and exposure at an international level and benefits from the expertise within the sector.
