Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications launches the expansion of Global Logistics Services

His Excellency the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed visited the Bahrain Logistics Zone

Accompanied by His Excellency the Undersecretary for Port and Maritime  Affairs Hassan Ali Al Majid, and a number of Ministry officials. The visit aimed to meet with tenant companies and follow up the needs of companies based in the Bahrain Logistics zone (BLZ).    

During the visit, His Excellency met with Global Logistics Services (GLS) the Chief Executive Officer Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and General Manager MrAli Ahmed Al Jawaheri. The company, which specializes in creating standardized warehouses, has just completed its warehouse expansion project, with warehouses designed in accordance with the highest standards and specifications, including air conditioned and thermal isolation warehouses which will allow companies to expand their warehousing activities and meet current market demands.

GLS’ Chief Executive Officer expressed satisfaction with the level of facilities and services provided by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications in addition to the cooperation of Customs Affairs in facilitating the official procedures.   

The BLZ is the only customs-free zone in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and  has been allocated to provide logistical storage with well-designed space in accordance with international standards. The facility has many advantages such as providing 24-hour security and custom services, making it the perfect choice for logistics companies. In addition, the zone is strategically located close to the Salman Industrial Zone offering easy accessibility; three kilometers from the Khalifa Bin Salman Port, thirteen kilometers from Bahrain International Airport, and forty kilometers from the King Fahad Causeway. ​​Major international logistics companies operate at the BLZ, serving regional and international markets,, making it the perfect choice for companies  as a regional trade hub..
