The Ministry’ Meteorological Directorate reported in their monthly weather summary that the month of November 2017 goes on record as the hottest November ever experienced in Bahrain since 1902.

The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications’ Meteorological Directorate reported in their monthly weather summary that the month of November 2017 goes on record as the hottest November ever experienced in Bahrain since 1902. This is same as November 1954.

The mean temperature of the month was 26.0°C which is 1.7°C above the long-term normal and goes on record as the highest mean monthly temperature for November since 1902. This is same as November 1954.

The mean maximum temperature of the month was 29.0°C which is 1.3°C above the long-term normal and goes on record as the seventh highest mean maximum temperatures for the month of November since 1946 and exceeded by November 2004 with a record of 29.9°C, November 1998 at 29.6°C, November 1994 at 29.5°C, November 2007 at 29.4°C, November 1999 at 29.2°C and November 1968 & 1989 at 29.1°C.

The mean minimum temperature of the month was 23.4°C which is 2.2°C above the long-term normal and goes on record as the highest mean minimum temperature for November since 1946. The old record was 23.3°C which occurred in November 1954.

The lowest temperature recorded was 19.7°C set on the 26th of November at Bahrain International Airport but recorded 16.0°C on the same day at Durrat Al Bahrain.

The mean relative humidity for November was 57% whereas the mean maximum relative humidity was 70% and the mean minimum relative humidity was 41%.

Series of fast moving upper troughs cross the Northern parts of the Arabian Gulf caused cloudy condition over the Kingdom leads to light to moderate rain in several places.

1.0 mm of Precipitation was reported on November 2017 at Bahrain International Airport. Trace amounts reported on 22nd, 24th and 28th of November where the long-term mean total precipitation for the month of November is 3.8 mm - the highest monthly rainfall ever recorded during November was 146.8 mm which occurred on November 1940.

The total precipitation recorded for November 2017 at Sitra Island was 2.8 mm. The total precipitation at King Fahd Causeway was 1.6 mm and the total precipitation at Durrat Al Bahrain was 1.4 mm.

Northwesterly to Northerly winds accounted 51% with gusts reaching 30 knots on the 23rd of November at Bahrain International Airport. But reached 32 knots on the same day at King Fahd Causeway.
                 
Dust haze affected the Kingdom on the 1st of November which reduced the visibility to 1500 meters at Bahrain International airport.
