Transportation Minister Meets Officials to Enhance Transport Cooperation

HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, held meetings with several ministers and senior executives during his participation in the 2nd Global Rail Transport and Infrastructure Exhibition and Conference.

The Transportation Minister held a meeting with Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazroui, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates.

HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Mohammed congratulated Al Mazroui on the success of the conference and exhibition and discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various sectors, improve infrastructure efficiency through modern methods, transition to sustainable transportation, and adopt innovative solutions in intelligent transport systems.

He also met with Kamel Abdelhadi El Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Transport of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The discussions focused on strengthening joint cooperation, reviewing Egypt’s experience in modern transport and major infrastructure projects, particularly in railways and metro systems, and emphasising the importance of knowledge exchange and partnerships to enhance transport service quality and achieve sustainable development.

The Transportation Minister also met with Nidal Al Qatamin, Minister of Transport of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where they explored opportunities to expand cooperation between the two countries, discussed developing transport sectors and facilitating passenger and trade movement, and reviewed key strategic projects in Jordan’s transport sector to promote integration and knowledge exchange.

HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed also held a meeting with Abdulrahman bin Salem Al Hatmi, Group CEO of ASYAD Group, where he was briefed on the ports and free zones system and discussed developing land and maritime transport services while enhancing the private sector’s role in supporting Gulf logistics integration.

Furthermore, HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed met with Ahmed Al Musawa Al Hashemi, CEO of Hafeet Rail, where they reviewed modern operational systems and technologies and discussed ways to enhance logistical transport integration between cities and industrial zones, contributing to improving the efficiency of the transportation system.
