HE Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, received His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Khaled bin Al Abdullah Al Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Telecom Company (stc), to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in communications and develop digital infrastructure.
The minister commended stc’s efforts in supporting digital infrastructure projects in Bahrain and its role in enhancing the country’s digital readiness and consolidating its position as a regional hub for communications and information technology.
The meeting also reviewed a number of strategic projects implemented by the group in the Kingdom, including the deployment of the "2Africa Pearls" submarine cable, the longest submarine cable in the world, with an investment of USD 205 million, contributing to strengthening Bahrain’s global connectivity and supporting the international communications system.
For his part, HRH Prince Mohammed Al Faisal expressed his appreciation for the support and facilities provided by the Kingdom and affirmed the group’s commitment to continue cooperating and investing in projects that serve the digital sector and contribute to achieving shared developmental goals.
