
HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, commended the strong relations and the close strategic and economic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait. He described the partnership as a model of Gulf and Arab integration, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait.
During his official visit to Kuwait, the minister emphasised Bahrain’s commitment, guided by the vision and the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to further developing cooperation with Kuwait. He highlighted the shared focus on developing transportation, communications, infrastructure, digital transformation, and the safety and security of air and maritime navigation to serve common developmental goals.
HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed met with Dr. Noura Mohammed Al Mashaan, Minister of Public Works of Kuwait, to discuss cooperation in transportation and logistics and the development of land and maritime infrastructure. The talks focused on enhancing regional connectivity and supporting comprehensive development within the GCC framework.
Both sides also reviewed means to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in ports and maritime navigation, including promoting safety, facilitating trade and tourism, activating existing agreements and MoUs, and expanding their scope in line with international standards.
On her part, Dr. Al Mashaan expressed appreciation for Bahrain’s cooperation in transport, infrastructure, and logistics, and emphasised Kuwait’s commitment to advancing joint efforts in support of both countries’ strategic interests.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed also held talks with Omar Saud Al Omar, Minister of State for Communications Affairs, to discuss expanding strategic cooperation in telecommunications, digital infrastructure, and emerging technologies, including AI. Both sides reviewed joint digital transformation projects, particularly in light of Bahrain’s current presidency of the Arab League Council and Kuwait’s presidency of the fifth session of the Digital Cooperation Organisation.
Minister Al Omar expressed Kuwait’s pride in its historical ties with Bahrain and its commitment to enhance bilateral cooperation in telecommunications, innovation, and digital transformation to support shared development goals.
HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed also met with Sheikh Hamoud bin Mubarak Al Sabah, President of the Civil Aviation Authority in Kuwait. The meeting covered cooperation in civil aviation through the exchange of technical expertise, adoption of international best practices in aviation safety and security, and support for digital transformation and logistics services.
The minister reviewed means to activate bilateral and GCC-level agreements and joint projects, expanding them to advance regional connectivity and facilitate travel, tourism, and trade, while supporting sustainable development goals.
On his part, Sheikh Hamoud bin Mubarak expressed appreciation for the productive partnership between Bahrain and Kuwait and their commitment to enhancing cooperation in civil aviation and logistics as key drivers of development in both countries.
