HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, participated in the Bab Al Bahrain Forum 2025. The forum was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and inaugurated on his behalf by Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister.
The forum was organised by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, held under the theme "Shaping a Sustainable Future through Trade and Employment" and brought together prominent Gulf, Arab, and international economic figures.
He highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s role as a global hub for innovation, human capital development, logistics, and the integration of digital and green technologies in building a diversified and sustainable economy. He credited this to the Kingdom’s comprehensive development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The minister emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to public-private partnerships that support economic diversification, modernise infrastructure and logistics services, and develop human capital. He noted that this aligns with the Economic Recovery Plan and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, aiming to balance fiscal stability and sustainable development.
He reviewed Bahrain’s efforts to build a competitive and sustainable economy amid global challenges, based on innovation and sustainability, focusing on infrastructure development and non-oil sectors such as finance, logistics, industry, and tourism. He also underscored investment in digital and green technologies to ensure continued growth and attract quality investments.
The minister highlighted Bahrain’s success in enhancing its position as a global logistics hub through regional and international partnerships and strategic infrastructure projects in maritime, air, and land connectivity. He highlighted efforts to boost efficiency, digital transformation, and the development of sectors such as transportation, telecommunications, cloud services, and artificial intelligence to support sustainable development goals.
Bab Al Bahrain Forum 2025 serves as a leading international platform. It brought together senior officials, decision-makers, and business leaders from around the world, including Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC; Gilbert Houngbo, Director General of International Labour Organisation; and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organisation, to discuss regional and global economic challenges.
