HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, met with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), during her visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the Bab Al Bahrain Forum 2025.

HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the WTO in transportation, telecommunications, digital trade, and enhancing global supply chains.

He also highlighted Bahrain’s efforts to develop infrastructure and expand maritime, air, and land transport networks, supporting its position as a regional and global logistics and trade hub in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.

On her part, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala commended Bahrain’s initiatives in digital transformation, free trade, and economic openness, expressing the WTO’s commitment to further technical cooperation and exchange of expertise with Bahrain in support of shared development goals.
