Fatima Abdullah Al Dhaen, Undersecretary for Land Transport and Post Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, participated in the 13th annual coordination meeting of contact points of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The meeting is being held via video conference from June 9 to 10 with the participation of representatives of member states.
Undersecretary Al Dhaen said the Kingdom of Bahrain’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening cooperation with member states and benefiting from initiatives and programmes that support sustainable economic development, as well as the exchange of expertise and best practices in areas of common interest.
The meeting discussed updates on the implementation of the committee’s strategy and its ministerial recommendations, and reviewed topics under consideration by working groups for the period 2027–2029, as well as mechanisms to enhance joint coordination.
It also addressed projects and programmes supporting economic and commercial cooperation between member states, and reviewed opportunities to benefit from these programmes in support of joint development initiatives.
The meeting also included a training session on mechanisms for benefiting from project support programmes and application requirements, contributing to the expansion of joint cooperation.
