Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, received Luigi Di Maio, the European Union’s Special Representative for the Gulf Region.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed emphasised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to continuing to develop strategic partnerships and expand cooperation in support of shared interests. He highlighted the importance of exchanging expertise and benefiting from advanced experience in developing the transport and logistics sectors.
The meeting reviewed and discussed issues of mutual interest and means to strengthen bilateral cooperation across the transport and logistics sectors. These include developing sustainable transport systems, improving the efficiency of services and infrastructure, and supporting innovation and the use of modern technology to keep pace with rapid developments in these sectors.
For his part, Di Maio commended the development of the transportation, telecommunications and infrastructure sectors in Bahrain. He emphasised the importance of continued coordination, exchanging expertise and exploring new opportunities for cooperation and investment to strengthen relations between both sides.
