Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Receives President of Transport General Authority

HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, received HE Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed Al Rumaih, Saudi Arabia's Vice Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and President of Transport General Authority, to discuss means to enhance bilateral cooperation in transport, communications, and logistics.

The meeting highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing relations and strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia, focusing on advancing cooperation in transport and logistics to serve mutual interests. They reviewed key development projects including the King Hamad Causeway, the Gulf Cooperation Council railway project, and unified international land transport systems. They also discussed enhancing maritime links through direct cargo and passenger routes, maritime passenger tourism, training collaborations, and coordination within the International Maritime Organisation.

HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed underlined Bahrain’s readiness to provide all necessary resources for successful land and sea connection projects between the two Kingdoms. He highlighted the partnership in logistics development reflects Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and supports regional integration under the Gulf Cooperation Council, benefiting both countries and contributing to the region’s growth.

On his part, HE Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed expressed pride in the progress of bilateral relations and commended the Kingdom’s efforts in infrastructure development and strategic connectivity. He underlined the importance of continued cooperation in major projects to boost economic integration and logistics prominence.

The visit concluded with a tour of Sa‘ada Port and Masar Company’s fleet to review advanced marine and commercial facilities, enhancing maritime cooperation between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
