Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, held a meeting with Abdullah bin Amer Al Swaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the 30th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council Ministerial Committee for Postal and Telecommunications Affairs.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed commended the longstanding ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia and their continued development across various domains, supported by the leaderships of both countries. He emphasised the commitment to further strengthening cooperation and coordination to meet the aspirations of both countries and their peoples.
The meeting discussed means to strengthen cooperation and integration in telecommunications and technology, and explore opportunities to expand digital connectivity and joint investment in digital infrastructure, data centres and artificial intelligence. These efforts aim to enhance integration between the telecommunications and technology sectors in both countries.
Both sides emphasised the importance of continued coordination and developing joint initiatives and partnerships to support digital transformation, promote growth in the telecommunications and technology sectors, and serve the shared interests of both countries.
