HE Fatima Abdullah Al Dhaen, Undersecretary for Land Transport and Post Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, and Yaseen Al Sayed, Assistant Undersecretary for Air Navigation and Meteorological Services, participated in the 31st meeting of the GCC Committee for Undersecretaries of Post and Telecommunications.

The meeting was held in Kuwait with the participation of official delegations from member states and representatives of the GCC General Secretariat.

The meeting discussed developing the postal and telecommunications sectors in GCC countries, including enhancing postal integration, developing products and services, supporting regional partnerships, and reviewing future work plans in digital infrastructure, roaming service regulations, and emerging technologies.

The agenda also included statistical reports and studies on sector performance to support development plans and improve operational efficiency.

Al Dhaen underscored Bahrain’s commitment to supporting joint GCC efforts to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise in these sectors. She noted that the adopted decisions and recommendations represent an important step towards improving services and achieving greater economic and social integration among GCC states.

The meeting noted the importance of continuing joint efforts to adopt initiatives that enhance the competitiveness of GCC countries in the postal and telecommunications sectors, while supporting sustainable development in the region.
