Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Leads Bahrain’s Delegation at World Governments Summit in Dubai

HE Dr. Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, led the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation participating in the 2026 World Governments Summit, held in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, under the theme "Shaping Future Governments".

HE Dr. Abdulla bin Ahmed said that Bahrain’s participation reflects its commitment to keeping pace with global changes in government work, advancing the exchange of expertise and international best practice in public policy development, and accelerating digital transformation and innovation in government services, in line with citizens’ expectations and improved institutional performance.

The Transportation Minister noted that the summit is a leading international platform for discussing future challenges facing governments and exploring innovative solutions based on modern technologies, artificial intelligence and big data. He said this contributes to building more flexible, efficient and sustainable governments, and enhances their ability to meet comprehensive development needs.

The Kingdom’s delegation included the Minister of Sustainable Development, the Minister of Information, the Minister of Youth Affairs, the Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, and the President of the Civil Service Bureau. The delegation participated in a number of panel discussions and specialised forums, reviewed leading global experiences in government performance and digital services, and discussed means to enhance cooperation with participating international institutions and organisations.

The summit brings together more than 6,250 participants from government leaders and experts, with the aim of developing shared strategies and visions to advance government work and strengthen international cooperation, as well as creating practical and effective solutions to growing global challenges.

The summit programme includes more than 445 sessions, with over 450 speakers from among presidents, ministers, decision-makers and experts, in addition to more than 700 chief executives of major global institutions and companies, 87 scientists who have received Nobel Prizes and other prestigious scientific awards, and representatives from more than 80 international and regional organisations and academic and research institutions.
