The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications stressed the need for all operators of student transport services to obtain the required licence before providing services, as preparations continue for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The Ministry said licensing is aimed at ensuring compliance with approved regulations and requirements, and verifying that vehicles and drivers meet the necessary safety and technical standards to provide safe and reliable transport services.
It urged individuals and companies wishing to operate student transport services to complete licensing procedures before commencing operations, noting that providing such services without the required licence constitutes a violation of the relevant regulations.
The Ministry also called on parents to verify that student transport providers hold valid licences before contracting their services, and to check the list of licensed operators through the Ministry’s website.
The Ministry continues to coordinate with the Ministry of Education and the General Directorate of Traffic to regulate student transport services and enhance compliance with applicable requirements.
