
The Kingdom of Bahrain won two awards at the Gulf Green Mobility Forum 2026 during a ceremony held as part of the forum's second edition in Salalah, Sultanate of Oman.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, received the Sustainable Organisation Award won by Khalifa Bin Salman Port from His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, in the presence of Bader Hood Al Mahmood, Undersecretary for Ports and Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications.
Fatima Abdulla Al Dhaen, Undersecretary for Land Transportation and Postal Affairs at the ministry, received the Leading Woman in Mobility Award.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed said the achievement reflects Bahrain's efforts to develop a sustainable and innovative transport system, reduce emissions and improve resource and energy efficiency in support of the Kingdom's sustainability and carbon neutrality targets.
Khalifa Bin Salman Port received the Sustainable Organisation Award in recognition of its sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives, including a solar energy project using panels installed at port facilities to provide clean, renewable energy and improve operational efficiency.
Al Dhaen received the Leading Woman in Mobility Award in recognition of her contributions to sustainable land transport, institutional governance and sustainability, innovation, national talent and youth development, and women's participation in the transport and logistics sector.
